Little Moreton Hall is a moat dating from the 15th century, is a wooden house located 4miles (6,4Km) form Congleton in the county of Cheshire, England. Is a landmark building, regarded as one of the best examples of wooden architecture in England. The house was owned by the Moreton family for almost five centuries. Today is the property of National Trust and is regarded as a protected building, a monument, most famous lamber Tudor located in the English countryside.

 

The costruction of the house dates back to 1450, in the 1912 Elizabeth Moreton left the house as an inheritance to his cousin Charles Abraham, Bishop of Derby, with a stipulation that the house should never be sold; Abraham has kept the house until 1938 and then became a National Trust property. Little Moreton Hall has a very strange shape like the letter "H", is therfore an irregular building, with asymmetrical facades on three sides of a courtyard. The architecture of the house is tied to the Renaissance period with the addition of strange geometric shapes, the prevailing colors are white, black and brown. On the facades of the house you may notice a recurrent figure the cloverleaf. Little Moreton Hall is a quaint little house was therefore describe as :" a house of gingerbread raised directly from a fairy tale".

 

Is a house surrounded by nature it is surrounded by a huge garden and a pool of water. When the visitor is close to this beautiful house the first impression which is that of peace and tranquility, do not feel noise there is silence. Little Moreton Hall is divided into parts, the oldest parts were built by owner of Cheshire Sir.Richard de Moreton around 1450,while the rest was built by three subsequent family Moreton since the 1580. The old part comprises the great hall which was then enlarged, the wing next to the old contains kitchen was added in 1480 for William Moreton, however the east wing dates back to 1559-1570 includes the chapel and the chamber withdrawal. The chapel contains paintings made with tempera painting in style renaissance dating back to 16th century.

 

The intersection of the east wing and the great hall there are large windows in wood on which the carpenter who made them has carved his name. Finally the south wing dates back to 1950-1970 was built for the son William Jhon Moreton,this wing includes the concierge and long gallery.During the English Civil War in the 19th cenutry Little Moreton Hall was reduced in disastrous conditions.Today the house is fully restored and visited by millions of tourists. The predominant colors of the house that is white, black and brown colors are typical houses dating from the Tudor period, is a product of the Romanticism of the 19th century. Today Little Moreton Hall is fully restored and opened to the public and has also become a film location.
