BERCY PARK, PARIS

Bercy Park is one of the largest and most important of Paris, located near the Seine  and near apartment buildings, quaint shops, and cafes.

The park consists of three different gardens designed by the architects Bernard Huet, Madeleine Ferrand, Jean-Pierre Feugas, Bernard Leroy, and landscape architects Ian and Philippe Le Caisne Raguin between 1993 and 1997.

There are different areas that offer spaces for children, gardeners, plant lovers, and for those who would like to walk or stroll; also spaces for sports and an education center. Located in the center of the park is the Palais Omnisports, which is surrounded by grass on all sides and blends in with the landscape.

These three gardens are bordered, in part adjacent to the Seine, by a long wall that filters the noise of traffic. highest point of the park you can enjoy a panoramic view of the vegetation in the park and the Bibliothèque nationale de France.
The park is directly connected to the Library through the Footbridge Simone de Beauvoir (inaugurated in June 2006)

The park was built to revitalize the eastern side of Paris, traditionally poor and less active than the western side. This space, was essentially made of lawns accessible around the clock as an extension of the Paris Bercy sports center. The park was completed in autumn 1995 and covered almost five hectares; it includes flowerbeds and a romantic garden.
