Moscow is the capital of the Russian Federation and the largest city in the country, with a population of some 10 million people. The city covers an area of almost 900 square kilometers. The Kremlin is a large Fortress located in the heart of Moscow on Red Square. From the outside it is most impressive. The "Kremlin", is the home to Russia's political power, seat of the ancient Russian Orthodox Church and the historical heart of the country. This is the most famous attractions in the world! This place has a fascinating history but sjort, and draws on  his architectural devolopment.The Kremlin is made up of several parts including the Arsenal, the Great Kremlin Palaces, Armoury to name a few. Not all parts are open to the public . Here we can explore the home of Soviet power, the majestic residence of the Russian Tsars. There are also some pretty gardens at one side of the Kremlin, where you can find people who enjiov the beautv of the structure.

The Kremlin in Moscow is an historical fortified complex on Brovincky's hill,and it confines with Red Square and Moskva River. In he past the Kremlin was used as residence of monks and patiarchas,but now is the official residence of Russia's President. Perimetric hall of 2.25 km,was built during the reign of Zar Ivan III by Italian architects,"Aristotile Fioravanti" and his pupils,and it has triangular shape.

With Zar Cremilino,the Kremlin was transformed from citadel in power symbol. The Kremlin includes four cathedral:Upenski or Asuncion Cathedral,where kings were incoronated  ,Biagovenshchenski or Annunciation Cathedral,a private church of zar and and Cathedral of Archangel,were Zar Pietro's I Family was burred. In XVII century,when the Kremlin stopped to be a fortified complex,his defensive towers were covered by domes similar tents.

Evidences of this period are three residential places:Poteshnyi Palace,the first Russian Theatre,Patriarchal Palace and Terem Palace;they are beautiful examples of Muscovite Baroque. The Zar PietroI built the Arsenal,the neoclassic Senate and the Big Palace of Kremlin,whit large representation halls and private rooms for Imperial Family and the new Armory.

With Bolshevik Revolution some minor structures were destroyed,while treasures of art and architecture were restored. In XX century were built two new palaces:The Presedium of Suprem Soviet and The Palace of Congresses.

After of death of Stalin the Kremlin was opened to public.

THE  KREMLIN

 

Kremlin, Russian term, which in Italian means fortress, refers to all buildings within those Russian cities that date back to medieval times.

This word is usually used to indicate the best known, the Kremlin in Moscow, a fortified city in the geographic and historical center of Moscow, on the left bank of the Moskva River, on the hill Borovickij.

It is the oldest part of the city and is the seat of national government institutions of Russia, and also one of the most important artistic and historical heritage of the nation. The western part of the Kremlin is surrounded by the 'gardens of Alexander, one of the first public parks in Moscow.

The idea of building the Great Kremlin Palace was founded in the mid eighteenth century. Are presented for achieving various projects, works of architects V. I. Baženov, Matvey Fyodorovich Kazakov, A. N. L'vov, V. P. Stasov, but only the project of Konstantin Ton Adreevič is accepted and implemented.

With the birth of the Soviet Union, the Kremlin became a symbol of the new government. The two-headed eagles placed on top of the main towers of the Kremlin are replaced by a 5-pointed star ruby with a diameter of 3 to 3.75 meters. During the 60 is built the Palace of Congresses in the Kremlin today, "the State Kremlin Palace." Since 1955 the Kremlin was opened to visitors, becoming an open air museum, and by 1990 the UNESCO declared world heritage.

 

 

 

The kremlin is an ancient castle built in 1156 , it is in the centre of Moscow surrounded by Grdens of Alexander , one of the first public parks. Kremlin ia a russian word which means fortress , it stands of on the Red Square close to the Moskwa River. There is located the political power , in fact is the seat of National Government Institutions. It has perimetrical walls long 2235 metres and high from 5 to 19 metres ; the walls have a particular triangular shape. During the Bolshevik Revolution part of the structure

was destroyed , but in the 1955 the tresure and art were restored and it was opened to the public. Now is one of the biggest Museum of Russia , directed by Yelena Gagarina , daughter of Yuri Gagarin , famous astronaut.  In the 1990 the Kremlin is declared UNESCO World Heritage.
