Albert park
Albert Park located in the City of Port Phillip, 3 km from the CBD of Melbourne.
The park include 18 hole golf course, walking and cycling tracks, boat and canoe hire and fishing opportunities, picnic tables, barbecue areas, playgrounds, and restaurants.
It offers a great opportunity to relax.
The area was occupied by tribes of Indigenous Australians for around 40,000 years prior to European settlement.
The park hosts many large sporting facilities as tennis courts, cricket ovals, soccer and rugby fields located in the south western side.
The Albert park lake was drained during the 1990 to remove weed infestation and other debris.
Today it provides a habitat for many species of birds.
Thanks to the many activities and attractions this area has about 4 million visitors annually.
